Someone stepped in to save a kitten born at an animal shelter. Now, young cats are thriving in ways no one ever imagined.

Kitten Meo was born in an animal shelter and spent the first few weeks of her life in a kennel due to a lack of resources. She ultimately became the only survivor of her litter. Staff noticed her deteriorating health and called for help.

When Megyn, the director of the Critical Kitten Care Foundation, was contacted, she took immediate action. “Meo was referred to me after the veterinary technician noticed that he was very light-headed, emaciated and weak,” Megyn told Love Meow.

At six weeks old, Meo weighed just 230 grams, about a third of her original weight. Although her fate was uncertain, Megyn was determined to give her a fighting chance.

Megyn was informed by the shelter that the kitten was facing some health issues. Meo was unable to walk properly and his hind legs spread out when he tried to move. A veterinary examination determined that her light-headedness was likely due to malnutrition and low muscle tone.

During the first week, Meo would spend hours cuddling with Megyn, often falling asleep in her arms wrapped in a soft blanket.

Meo had limited vision due to cataracts and had not learned to feed herself. To help her, Megyn guided the kitten to the food source and taught it how to eat. “Once she started eating well, she rebounded quickly.”

Once they had their fill, they loved to snuggle up to their humans for maximum comfort.

“She went from not being able to walk to running in less than a week.”

As his legs strengthened and his posture improved, Meo became more active and interested in his surroundings. She remembered how she would pitter around the room, following her adoptive mother like a duckling. “Once he gained enough muscle mass, he started running and playing like a kitten.”

Within a week, Meo had blossomed into a ball of energy. Although she was still small, she acted like an active 7-week-old kitten.

“She has always been full of love. When she was six weeks old and weighed 230 grams, she purred the moment I petted her and has continued to purr ever since. She had such a zest for life. I love having and playing with everyone’ toys, especially toys that make noise. ”

“When she gets tired, she just wants to snuggle up to any human or creature she can find. Despite her congenital abnormalities and neglect, this girl’s desire to live and love makes her so resilient. was completed.”

Thanks to good food, physical therapy, and plenty of room to roam, Meo’s feet were straightened and her personality began to shine.

At eight weeks old, Meo finally reached the one-pound mark, a huge milestone that showed how far she had come.

“Meo made it over the last hurdle, the stairs. She has visual impairments so she struggles with depth perception. It’s much easier for her to go up than it is to go down.” Practice going downstairs safely. After several weeks of doing so, “I’m happy to report that she finally got the hang of it.”
