On Saturday, July 27, a dog was rushed to the vet after accidentally ingesting marijuana while walking on the beach with its owner.

His owner, Stephen Davidson, 59, said his eight-year-old West Highland terrier, Oscar, began behaving strangely during his usual walk on the beach in Sheerness, Kent, England.

Davidson is New York Post Oscar is typically “Loving and clingy”He suddenly became lethargic and stopped drinking water.

This was a cause for concern for Davidson, who is afraid of dogs. “He could have died of dehydration.”So, being a responsible and concerned pet owner, Davidson rushed Oscar to an emergency vet.

Davidson explained: “Doctors put something in his throat to see if he would vomit immediately, but he didn’t vomit and there was a delay.”

“At the time, we were told he had been drugged.” He added:

Oscar stayed at the vet overnight, received intravenous fluids and was given a charcoal medication to remove the drugs from his system.

Since the incident, Oscar has made a full recovery and is now back to his sweet, cuddly self.

Restoring Oscar to health won’t be cheap, but Davidson’s biggest concern is where to walk him in the future, as she doesn’t feel it’s safe to take him back to his usual walks to the beach, 20 minutes from her home.

Stephen said, “It’s a terrible situation in this town. People smoke cigarettes everywhere and throw them on the ground.”

He also warned dog walkers along the same route to be vigilant and to seek vet attention as soon as possible if they notice their puppy behaving abnormally.

“I just ask people to be extra careful about what their dogs pick up and be aware of dangers when out walking.” The pet owner said:
