A woman adopted a kitten that had been in a shelter for days and watched it recover.

When Nadija, an animal rescuer and foster parent, met Chip the kitten at the county shelter, he was eagerly awaiting adoption.
Alone in his kennel, he was filthy, malnourished and had a severe eye infection. Nadija was already busy finding a home for him, but she couldn’t stop thinking about him and hoping he would be adopted soon.
After over a week without anyone taking him in, she decided to intervene to give him a chance at a better life.

After Chip had eye surgery, Nadija took him home and made him comfortable with a cozy warm blanket. Despite being small and covered in flea droppings, he immediately felt safe and fell asleep soundly in his new bed.
During the first few days, he spent most of his time resting, allowing his body to recover and regain his strength.

“I spent a lot of time just lying with him, cuddling him and making him feel safe and loved, which he loved so much.”
With lots of TLC, Chip’s spirits were lifted and he started playing and showing interest in toys. However, his energy remained low and he needed assistance going to the bathroom and getting soothing massages on his tummy.

He perked up whenever his adoptive mother was around. It was as if he understood her concern and sought comfort by her side. Despite his stomach issues, Chip was always cheerful, enjoyed his meals and soaked up all the extra snuggles.
He washed his face and “thanked” the human by purring softly in his ear.

After nearly two months of painstaking care from his adoptive mother, Chip is finally feeling better and is using the bathroom more consistently. “Life with this sweet boy has been a roller coaster. We’ve taken tons of drugs and eaten a lot of different foods, but it’s all worth it.”
He was ready to have fun and Nadija knew the perfect companion to introduce him to.

Chip meets Milo (gray) and Alfie (tuxedo) and they immediately bring out the mischievous spirit in him. He ran alongside them even as he rolled, keeping pace with the boys despite his thick legs.
“He’s a feisty, quivering little potato, but that makes him even more appealing.”

Although his limbs appear shorter than normal and he waddles when he walks, this determined little guy always holds his own while happily frolicking with his much larger feline friends .
“Chip loves to play, cozy up in his cozy bed with a heating pad, and loves his cardboard scratcher. He’s not a ‘normal’ kitten, but he’s doing well.”

Chip needs special help to reach his goals and improve his mobility, but his zest for life is unstoppable. “He’s a really happy, playful guy (in his own way) and the perfect boy who deserves the best.”
Blind Alfie is obsessed with Chip and gets into all sorts of trouble after following him.

Chip has a loving human who caters to his every whim and a soft blanket to keep him cozy at night. He rolls around in bed every morning until breakfast is served.

A few months ago, Chip was a tiny kitten living alone in a kennel with an uncertain future.
Now, he is thriving every day with the support of his foster family and continues to amaze them with his resilience and playfulness.
